Connotation

NEED presupposes DEPENDENCY. It implies that you CANNOT live without this person. WANT presupposes INDEPENDENCE. It implies that you CAN live without this person.

A MATURE relationship is that between 2 people who DO NOT NEED each other but WANT to be with each other.

- Diego Odchimar(Professor)

Few days ago, I had this debate with my girlfriend about this. I can't say if it was actually a debate or something and for a second it wasn't a debate from the start. I'm still confused.

It came from the want and needs. Tell me. Whats the difference between these two? I asked Meriam, I asked Wiki, I asked myself, and lastly my Professor. And you know what? I thank them for making it all more oh so fascinatingly intricate.

Economics state that WANTS are luxury, and NEEDS are humans daily dose of everything necessary. Does wanting someone make her/him a luxury?

NEEDING something means you depend on it, but why do we always say to a person that we need them. Did the world media gave us the impression of its value? I don't know. I don't care. These superficial words of man will never encompass April's divinity for me.
